Christmas Day

So this post is weeks behind schedule but I have had some picture uploading issues with my blog.  I think I finally figured it all out and can finally blog about our fabulous Christmas.  With this year Greg and I both being able to have a 2 week break at Christmas (Yet another reason Greg is loving his new teaching gig) was amazing.  From start to finish our break was relaxing, fun filled, festive, and just what our family needed.  We vowed that once Briggs turned 3 that we would be spending Christmas Day at our house.  We really want the kids to have great Christmas memories at our house.  To say that Briggs was excited for Christmas would be a huge understatement and in our house if Briggs is excited then Harper is excited (even if she does not know why).  Here is how we celebrated our day...
Getting cookies and milk ready for Santa.  Harper took her job very seriously.
We decided the fireplace seemed like the logical place for the cookies to go since that is where the big man would make his arrival.
A few poses by the Christmas tree.  Whenever they are screaming at each other I need to look at these to remind myself that they do love each other!
I told them to put their arms around each other but I am pretty sure Harper heard put your arms around yourself.  What a goof.
Santa ate all his cookies, drank his milk, and left the kids a very nice note.
We video taped the kids coming down the stair so here is the aftermath of finding their goods.  Briggs was so excited, as he came down the stairs he said "Just what I always wanted".  A bit of the styrofoam from Santa's package was left on Briggs train and he was so cute as he asked me "Mom, do you think this could be snow from the North Pole".   I sometime wish I was 4 again.
Harper loving her new art table.  Not sure what we were thinking giving this child markers but she has spent countless hours doodling on her table.
This is the position that the kids assumed pretty much the rest of the day.  I think we set up that train at least 50 times throughout the day.
Opening stockings.  Kind of funny that the kids probably loved getting new tooth brushes and toothpaste in their stockings than the big stuff.  Go figure.
She was all business when it came to opening presents.
Trying out our new art supplies.
Literally trying our new art supplies!

We spent the rest of the day being lazy, playing with our new toys, and enjoying a whole day of not leaving our house.  In the evening Terry, Sue, and Mark came over for dinner and hanging out.  The kids were thrilled to show off their new goods. What a great day and great memories made.
