Let It Snow

We have struck out this year with having not even one snow day but we were lucky enough to have a good snow on a Saturday.  Briggs was feeling a little under the weather so Harper and Greg decided to take on the snow just the two of them.  This is really the first time that Harper has been out to actually enjoy the snow when she wasn't too little or it wasn't to cold.  She loved it all, they made snow angels, swung in the snow, and went sledding.  It think we might have a little snow bunny on our hands.

Tooth Fairy

Briggs is officially a big boy, he lost his first tooth.  Losing a tooth has been the topic of discussion for quite some time at our house.  He was one of the last ones to have lost a tooth and he was becoming very impatient.  Our bottom middle two have both been a little wiggly for awhile but one of them finally decided to come loose.  In true Briggs fashion we made an elaborate plan to pull out his tooth using some floss, a hot wheel, and a track (see video below).  I was actually shocked that the tooth popped right out on our second attempt.  He was so proud of his teeny tiny tooth and even more excited when the tooth fairy came to visit leaving a whole 50 cent piece.  We are so excited for our big boy and can't believe that he could we have a kid old enough to loose his teeth already.  Our second one is already quite loose so it shouldn't be long.

Catch-Up

Due to my lack of blogs lately I am going to do a quick catch-up/recap of the last few month. Although nothing much has been going on there is always something noteworthy happening at the Tomlinson's. We have been trying to beat the winter blues and have been pretty creative with our indoor activities.

Both kids still love school and are more than ready to head out in the morning, which makes is easy for us.  Briggs is really excelling in math and still says that PE and recess (outside) are his favorite things to do.  Harper is getting to be such a smarty pants.  She loves to help Briggs with his reading and homework and I am pretty sure she could succeed as a kindergartner.  She is very into dressing up these days.  After school she is immediately upstairs to find her first outfit change.  It is pretty cute to see her love being all fancy.

Well here are a few of our moments in picture.......

Some indoor bowling kept us busy a few nights.  Briggs recently had a field trip with his class to bowl as well and know thinks he might like to play bowling as a sport when he is bigger!

One of our many dress up outfits.

Baking muffins with heels, a tiara, and no shirt.  Not sure what kind of princess she is.

A trip to the zoo on an unusually nice January weekend.  Love the new penguin exhibit.

We celebrated our 100th day of school with taking a picture of 100 hot wheel (just a small portion of our collection) and dressing like a 100 year old.  He loved it all.

The adults took a quick getaway for a little breather.  We went to tablerock with the Freeman's for 2 days of uninterrupted conversation and lots of relaxation.  Lots of fun.

Harper has been sporting lots of swimsuits as well in preparation for our upcoming beach trip.  Also rocking her Taylor Swift glasses.

Christmas 2014

Par for the course I am a day late and a dollar short on my post.  This year Christmas came and went before I even knew it and now here I am in February still with no post. So catch up time.  We always look forward to Christmas break around our household with everyone off for a full two weeks it is fun all the way around.  The kids are at a perfect age for all the magic of Christmas.  Lots of questions this year about the how's and what's of Santa and the reindeer.  So much fun how excited they are about everything.  We were able to spend the holidays with lots of family and friends.  Christmas Eve at the Tomlinson's, good food, toasty fire, and family, pretty good combination. The kids were thrilled to get to open presents a day early. We headed home to prep our house for Santa, cookies, milk, notes and reindeer food.  Briggs was very specific about the rules of getting out of bed during the night and exactly what needed to happen in order for Santa to come. Santa arrived and as always did not disappoint. Harper received a "frozen" karaoke machine and Briggs the 4 lane elimination track he had been talking about for month.  We had a great morning just the four of us playing and hanging out.  Mid afternoon the Herron clan arrived at our house filling it with lots of presents, food, and noise.  With 6 kids 6 and under there is never a lack of excitement. The kids had a ball playing together and I loved getting to be with my whole family on Christmas Day. We feel so thankful during the holidays to have such great friends and family to share our life with. Merry very late Christmas.
