Wow I have been really neglecting my blog lately. Sorry all you loyal visitors our lives have been so busy the blog has been on the back burner. We are currently on spring break and loving a little slow down in our lives (if you consider being at home with 2 kids a slow down). Greg is enjoying his first spring break as a teacher and really understands now why teachers need these little sanity breaks. We usually head down to Port Aransas for spring break and are super sad this year not to be making the trip. Mom and Dad are heading down next week and I know I will die when I see all their great pictures of the 80 degree weather. We knew Miss Harper would not endure the trip so well this year, the car seat has been her enemy since she was born and 14 hours in it just seemed like torture for everyone. We will be sad but hopefully can make it next year. '
We opted for a short getaway to Omaha with the kids. We hit the zoo, Omaha children's museum, and stayed in a hotel with a indoor water park. They could have been at the beach or heading down a slide at the water park and been equally happy, funny how kids work. Greg and I were laughing how we felt like real adult parents being on a little family vacation. The kids were awesome the whole trip and it was so fun to see them having so much fun. Bedtime seemed to be the only snag, they were ready for bed by 8:00 so therefore Greg and I had to be ready for bed too. Guess a little extra sleep never hurt anyone.
The kids loved the aquarium at the zoo. We love sharks right now so to see them swimming over our heads was amazing. It was freezing outside so we retreated to mainly the indoor zoo venues, thankfully they have quite a few. Briggs and Harper were both quite brave and ambitious at the water park. Harper jumped right in there to go down the slide over and over again while Briggs braved one of the big boy slides all by himself (that is big in the fearful Briggs world). The children's museum was great, super busy but still fun. Our kids could have spent all day in the ball room trying out different ways to transport the balls. Very successful trip hopefully one we can do again when it is not so bitterly cold. We are happy to have a few days left to hang out at home and relax not however looking forward to more snow and cold in the forecast. Spring where are you?
