Let Go Royals

To say that people are excited about the Royals this year would be an understatement.  I know in out household it opening day has always been better than Christmas Day but this year even more so.  With such an incredible end to last year Royals mania is at an all time high.  When we got the opportunity for tickets to opening day we of course jump on it.  While the weather was not ideal baseball weather we had fun none the less.  We got to hang out with great friends, miss a Monday of school, see a great game of baseball, and soak up a really awesome environment.  Here to the Royals having another great season and me surviving an endless stream of games and MLB highlights on my television.  Good luck to both!!

Easter Celebrations

Happy Easter.  We were very excited for Easter this year and surely got our fill by the time we completed 4 separate Easter egg hunts.  We began at school with each of the kids bringing home a basket full of goodies.  Briggs had a sight word egg hunt which meant he had to identify a sight word on a egg before he could keep it.  Based on his haul he is really excelling at sight words.  We dyed eggs which I think was a first at our house.  They kids loved doing it but we disgusted that people eat hard boiled eggs.  Easter Sunday Briggs woke up at promptly 5:30 requesting that we start hunting for eggs.  After stalling for about an hour we woke up a sleepy little girl to start our hunt.  The kids loved searching the house for eggs and still finding the ones we missed hours later.  We had a nice quiet morning before heading to Gram and Grandads in the afternoon for another hunt with our cousin Mia.  They love playing with Mia and being at Gram and Grandads, always reminds me of special holidays at my Grandma & Grandpa Herron's.  So happy that they will have such fun holiday memories.  Hopefully some great Spring weather is just around the corner.

Beach or Bust

Hard to believe that Spring Break has already come and gone, this year is really flying by.  We have been anticipating our trip to the beach for a long time and the kids were so excited to take the trip.  We left from Chanute about 3:00 and headed out in rainy, yucky weather.  We were fully equipped to entertain 2 little ones for the long haul.  iPads charged, dvd players loaded, and Doe Doe with her bag of goodies we were ready to go.  The trip down was pretty long with lots of traffic but the kids did a great job traveling.  We arrived in Port Aransas about 5:00 on Saturday and immediately hit the beach.  the kids were so excited they were soaked even though it was cold and rainy out.

We spent the week making lots of trips to the ocean, enjoying the heated pool, exploring the town, and just relaxing.  Since Harper had not been to the beach since she was a baby it was all new to her and she loved it all.  Our weather was not super but the kids did not mind a bit.  We love Port Aransas and are so lucky that we get to share the beach experience with our kids.  Thanks Doe Doe and Papa for enduring the long trip with two little ones, all the fun, and being such wonderful Grandparents.  We look forward to many more years of fun trips to the beach.  Tons of pictures of our week....
