We had a fabulous 4th of July this year. The weather was perfect, we got to be with some of our best friends, and the kids had a blast. We started our day with a swim party at the Cordell's Pool and ended with a celebration and slumber party at the Freeman's. We are so lucky that our and all our friends kids love each other and have so much fun together. Briggs finally decided that he liked fireworks this year while Harper spent most the night I my lap with her ears covered asking if that was the last one. The Freeman's know how to throw a party with plenty of great food, fun fireworks, and even a cotton candy machine. We partied far to long and late, it was about 11:00 before all kids were asleep but super thrilled to all be sleeping in the same room. Great day all around, hopefully some traditions made. One of the kids asked when America was going to show up so we could eat his birthday cake. We might need some history lessons ass well. Happy 4th!!!

Happy Birthday Papa
The whole Herron clan gathered last weekend to celebrate Papa's birthday and to take family pictures. Although the weather was not ideal we had so much fun and were able to get in the family pictures before the rain fully hit on Saturday. Anytime you get our whole group together it is a bit of chaos but always tons of fun. We were a bit worried that with so many little ones pictures would be a disaster but the kids were actually did pretty good (minus a young lady in our family!!) and the pictures turned out really cute. The kids all put on a show for Papa for his birthday and it turned out really funny and cute. Lydia our little ham lead the crew in songs and dance and shy Briggs even stepped in with a little comedy and magic trick. We loved spending Papa's birthday with him and realize we all need to get together far more than we do. Thanks Papa and Doe Doe for all the great food, entertainment, and making your home still feel like our home. We love you.

Beaver Lake
I have been enjoying summer so much that I have not taken the time to blog lately so I am going to play a bit of catch-up. A few weekends ago we were able to getaway on a adults only trip to Beaver Lake with some of our great friends the Cordells and the Freemans. The kids stayed with both Papa and Doe Doe and Gram and Grandad so they did not miss us at all and were sufficiently spoiled. We headed out on Thursday afternoon and enjoyed a trip with no kids music and full conversations without interruption. When we usually all get together we have 6 kids under the age of 5 so adult conversation is sparse. We spent two full days on the boat enjoying sun, water, and some relaxation. The weather was perfect and you can't beat the clear water at beaver lake. In the evening we played games, cooked dinners, and stayed up way to late having
fun. We are so lucky to have such great friends that we love being with and that have become our extended family. We are already planning our next getaway!
