Easter

I love Easter for many reasons but the most being that it is a sign that Spring is here and Summer is just around the corner.  The kids were super excited for Easter this year they got plenty of celebration time with a school party, a easter egg hunt at our house, and a celebration at Grams as well.  It turned out to be a perfect weekend with beautiful weather.  Briggs woke us up about 6:00 announcing that it was Easter and he was ready for everyone to get up.  After waking Harper up we headed downstairs to find that the Easter Bunny had made it to our house and delivered more than enough eggs and goodies for our two.  They were super cute running around the house to collect eggs, reminded me of how much fun we used to have on Easter growing up.  We now have more candy at our house than any person should consume in a year.  I am going to have to get rid of it soon, I am helpless with chocolate.  What a fun day to celebrate what a great family we have.  Next up Harper's birthday, a 3 year old in our house could be trouble.

Pretty Girl

For Easter Harper got some new lipstick, the girl loves lipstick.  I was upstairs getting ready and did not hear her for a few minutes.  After going downstairs to check on her this is what I found...........

She was quite proud of herself. How can you be mad at that face?

Spring Break 2014

Well spring break has come and gone and yet here we are still wishing for spring to arrive.  On my way to school today there were flurries in the air, it is April and we are all ready for some sun and warmth.  Late with a post as always we had a great spring break.  We spent the first part of our week doing some of our favorite Kansas city thing, union station, play dates with friends, parks, and just playing at home.  We also had a frozen slumber party with Haddie to celebrate the release of our new favorite movie Frozen.  The kids love having spending parties with Haddie and it turned out the be a successful night. Our last weekend of spring break we heading to Omaha our good friends the Granfors to hit up an indoor water park and explore the zoo.  The kids as always just loved the hotel experience, being able to spend the night somewhere other than your house is always a treat.  We had tons of room to run and explore and we took full advantage of it.  The zoo was awesome with the aquarium being the main event.  Briggs is really into sharks and loved being able to see them up close and personal.  The second night Greg came down with the flu which was such a bummer.  The kids and I retreated to a germ free room and let him suffer alone, luckily the kids did not catch it and it only lasted about 24 hours.  Not fun to be sick when you are away from home.  We were so proud of the kids at the water park.  Briggs after taking swim lessons has become quite a dare devil in the water even taking on the big slides.  Harper was such a hoot making her way up and down the 2 little slides.  She had to of made over 50 trips and let no one get in her way.  Such a fun get away and a great chance to spend some time with friends.  Now we are on the downhill slide to summer and yes we are counting the days.
