Snow Days

Well if two snow days last week was not lucky enough we were able to snag two more this week. Snow days when you are a teacher are about as good as it gets. I think the kids have been pretty spoiled being at home with Greg and I and having undivided attention. By Wednesday evening I think we were all kind of ready to get back to real life, cabin fever and severe boredom were starting to set in. I think if I had to drive one more train around the tracks in Briggs room I would have lost it. We had to get pretty creative on things to do while stuck in the house but all in all snuggling up with my family for a few days is not a bad gig. Really just sad to be out of my jammies and not sipping on a hot cup of coffee all day. Now here is hoping for some warmer weather and Spring to appear very soon. A few pictures of our snowed in days.....

Valentine's Day

Here we are already celebrating Valentine's Day once again.  I can hardly believe how quickly the first of the year has flown by.  I was sick and tired of missing Briggs school parties so I decided that I would take a half day off school to attend his party and attempt to not feel like such a slacker working mom.  He was so excited that I was there and I loved watching him with all his buddies.  They had snacks, sang some songs, and played a game.  So stinking cute to see him having so much fun.  I gave him the option to stay at school or to come spend the afternoon with me at my at school, of course he chose the latter.  I loved having him there with me and of course the girls went gaga over him.  He actually got in on the game we were playing  and challenged the girls to a race (they let him win and he was thrilled).  He asked me later "Mom why did all those girls keep saying I was cute?"  I Imagine in about 8 years he will find that to be pretty great.

Briggs ended up getting to go to Greg's school on Thursday afternoon to attend his class party.  He loved Greg's classroom and thought the kids were awesome and fast.  Greg said it was as if the President had arrived in his class when Briggs came in, they thought he was great.  He got in on a party, recess, and some reading time.  Pretty fun week for one little boy, sorry Harper your afternoon naps have put you at a disadvantage.  Great Valentine's Day all around, so much love in our lives to be grateful for.

Our Spider Man valentine's. We are obsessed with Spider Man in spite of never even seeing a show.

R & R

We owe a big thank you to both sets of our parents for watching our little sweeties the past two weekends so Greg and I could have a little alone/fun time.  My parents took them to Chanute for a few days and Greg and I were able to pretend we were young and carefree again.  We went out for a night with friends, spent a day relaxing and not taking care of anyone, had a nice quiet dinner out, and spent an few hours sipping coffee at one of our favorite coffee shops.  It was a perfect pick me up for two busy, worn-out parents that needed some R&R.  This past weekend we were able to have another night out (2 in a row are you kidding me) to hit up a concert from one of our favorite bands.  It was an awesome concert and we had more fun than we have had in a long time.  We feel so lucky that we have such amazing support from our parents and we often wonder how we would make it without them.   Thank you Doe Doe, PaPa, Gram, and Grandad for loving our babies and always being there for us so we love you guys.

Catch Up

It has been ages since my last blog, I will chalk it up to just being too worn out at the end of the day to get back on the computer.  I also hate taking indoor pictures so our stock of pictures has been pretty slim lately.  We are just cruising through the first part of the year and knocking on wood that nasty flu virus has yet to hit our house.  Greg and I can hardly believe that we are already 1 month done with the second semester of school.  We are already counting down our days till summer break! We have been taking in the few little glimmers of Spring the past few weeks by getting outside as much as possible.  We love not coming home after school and having to hole up in the house.  I am going to get better about getting back in the blogging mode but till next time here are a few pics of life at our house.

Harper at the park.  She loves the swing and chasing Briggs down the slide.
Checking out the trains in the lookout at Science City
Playing Trains with Emmitt at Science City.
Loving the great outdoors at Ernie Miller Nature Park.  We could throw rocks in the water for hours.

 Love those piggies!
One of our new favorite activities is Candy Land.  We try to get at least 2 rounds in most nights.
Getting pulled by our Haddie Girl.  The girls have been really loving being together lately.
