Update
I have not been real efficient with my blog these days. Who knew one little person could turn your life upside down. We have been going like crazy since bringing Harper home from the hospital. She is a great baby and so easy going but the combination of having a 2 year old who loves to play and a baby who loves to snuggle does not leave mom and dad with much down time. Harper is now weighing 10.3 pounds, quite a jump for being such a little thing when she was born. We are currently battling what we think is acid reflux and hoping to get it under control so she is not in so much pain when she eats. She is on medicine and we hope that does the trick. Briggs is the best big brother and really loves on her which is so precious. He hates when she cries and will pat her face and say "it is ok sweet girl don't cry". Kind of makes the tiredness and craziness all worth it. We are heading to Chanute this weekend to kick off the summer and relax by the pool. Looking forward to showing off our baby girl. Here are a few pictures I snapped of her this week. I am definitely not a professional but love to experiment with the camera and editing. Have a great weekend.

Welcome Harper
I have literally been trying to post a blog since coming home from the hospital but am quickly realizing my time is pretty limited with two kiddos. Thought I should recap the arrival of our little Miss Harper and her life as the newest member of our family.
We headed to the hospital at about 6:30 am on Tuesday the 26th. I slept about 3 hours the night before and most of that on the couch in the living room so I was feeling pretty tired. Briggs stayed home with Doe Doe until they were ready to go to the hospital. We arrived and got right in to our room, got in my gown, and hit the bed. I felt a lot less anxious knowing what was ahead of me this time. They started me on pitocin and fluids about 8:00 and broke my water soon after that. I started to have some pretty nasty contractions about 9:00 and knew that I had to be moving along pretty quickly. As the contractions got worse so did my patience for an epidural. How people go through labor without pain meds is beyond me! After about an hour of contractions coming about every 2 minutes I finally saw the anestethiogolist, I did not know whether to hug him or kick him. They got my epidural in about 10:30 and I started feeling some relief of the pain about 10:50. When the nurse checked we were all shocked to find out I was fully dilated and ready to go.
We and by we I mean I, decided that I wanted to have a bit of an entourage to witness the birth of our second baby. My Mom, my sister Kelli, and good friend Leta all were in the room to see the big event. Greg ran out to grab the cheerleaders as I got prepped. The doctor arrived just in time and after about two contractions and a little pushing Miss Harper made her way into the world at 11:22. She came out wailing and really let us know she had arrived. I loved having people I love in the room to see our beautiful little girl make her way into the world. We were so shocked to find out that she weighted 7 pounds 4 ounces, After Briggs we were bracing for another 9 pounder. She was so petite and perfect in every way. Briggs made his way into see his little sister and was less than impressed. When Greg asked him if we should take her home he said “no just leave her here”. We were a little nervous about that response but he has really become a awesome big brother.

We feel so blessed to have another addition to what we already thought was a perfect little family. Thank you to everyone who came to welcome Harper, everyone who helped us out with Briggs during our hospital stay and after, the wonderful gifts, great meals, and most importantly loving our family and new baby girl. We can’t wait to make memories as a family of four.
