Goodbye Summer

Well it is official my summer is over, back to being a working mama. I don't think I have enough room in this blog to say how much I loved being a home with Briggs this summer. He is such an awesome little person, he amazed me daily with his outlook on the world. It is so interesting to be able to see things through his eyes and how truly excited and amazed he is about everything. I swear I have never been more excited to hit a train or see an airplane in the sky. I am truly missing the sound of my name momma, momma, momma being shouted endlessly. I can not complain too much not too many people get a 10 week vacation to spend with their babies, I feel very lucky. As I sit at my desk today I am counting down the days till next Summer (about 290) until then, farewell summer!

Pictures from an evening at Shawnee Mission Park. We feed our "nacks" to the ducks and nearly fell in the lake!

I Love Summer!

Our last summer trip took place last weekend as we went on our final tablerock trip. We have been trying to get our group of friends on vacation for a few years but between weddings, babies, and life we had yet to do it. Finally we got our acts together and planned what turned out to be a awesome trip. Although we love Briggs very much we decided to leave him behind this trip. Relaxing is not something that Briggs allows us to do too much of these days. Don't feel too bad for him he shared time with both set of Grandparents and was not lacking any kind of love or attention. We did have some sweet kiddos along on the trip so we got our kid fix while we were there.
We rented a beautiful house for three nights just a few blocks from the lake. We spent one full day boating on the lake and another day shopping and swimming at the pool. We feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends that are so much fun to be around. Hopefully we will make this an annual trip with the whole crew. What a great way to end a fabulous summer, back to reality and work. Yuck!

Reminder to all for next trip:

  • Long island ice tea and Stephanie mid afternoon are not a good combination!

  • Always answer your door when you hear a knock, you never know what could be waiting on the other side for you

  • People over the age of 30 should not be drinking Boone's Farm!

  • When you are in doubt of where the ladder on the boat goes check under the coolers (yes we all have college degrees).

  • Do not let small children use the restroom in the lake they are capable of crazy thing.
  • Aaron should not be allowed to read any kind of schematic or wire anything no matter what he has drank.

Fun times guys thanks!
