Happy Father's Day

We want to wish our Daddy, Pa-Pa, Grandad, and Uncles a Happy Father's Day. Briggs has so many wonderful men in his life to look up to, thank you all for loving him so much.

Greg you are a fabulous dad and I think my lucky stars everyday that we get to share Briggs life together. I tell Briggs all the time that we picked out a good Daddy and I know he agrees. Seeing you and Briggs together is a daily reminder of why I love you so much. Thank you for being a wonderful father and husband. We love you always!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

We hit our first T-bones baseball game on Saturday night. To say we actually watched the game would be a lie, but we did however manage to make it to the ballpark and manage to have a good time. Who knew that 20 month old little boys do not have the attention span to watch even an inning of a baseball game. The t-bones is a great ball field and very kid friendly. We spent a lot of time at the playground and the concession stand. Briggs has started calling snacks that he really likes num-nums, and we definitely found some num-nums at the ballpark. Just like his mom, I only go to the games for nachos and frosty malts with a wooden spoon. There was a fabulous fireworks show after the game but Briggs was not so keen on the noise. He wanted to see the fireworks but his whole body would shake when the boom went off, poor little boy. I always love seeing him experience things for the first time and can not wait for many more trips to games, maybe we will wait till next year.

Chanute Trip

Briggs and I headed down to Chanute this past week to spend some time relaxing by the pool with Doe Doe and Papa. We thought it would be fun to pick up our cousin Lydia (La La as Briggs calls her) on our way down to surprise Doe Doe. We spent 3 days doing nothing but playing and swimming. I am not sure who was more wore out by the end of the trip the kids or Doe Doe and I. Briggs and Lydia really play well together and are such goof balls when they are around each other. They are so fun to watch and listen to, Lydia is a riot. I did catch a glimpse of my life if I had two kids and truthfully it was a bit terrifying. Kudos to people with multiples I am not sure how you are still standing at the end of the day. While we were busy, busy the whole time everyone had a blast. I know these will be trips that the kids and grandparents will always remember. Thanks for all the help and fun Doe doe and Papa.

Lake Weekend

After a great weekend at the lake we are back to reality and trying to get used to not waking up to a porch swing and a beautiful view. We had a great weekend just relaxing, swimming, and hitting the lake. We headed down on Friday with a chatty little boy in our backseat and plenty of movies to keep him busy. When we arrived we hit the pool to cool down and later that night celebrated Gram's birthday. Saturday morning we headed out on the lake for a full day of swimming and boating. We had to call it a day about 4:00 with some sleepy little boaters and worn out parents. Briggs was precious out on the lake, we put him in his little boat and he would float around saying happy, happy, happy. He loves the water and is almost getting a little too brave, it scares his mommy. We spent most of our time out on the back patio enjoying the view and watching Briggs and Mia play together. Thank you Gram and Grandad for planning such a wonderful trip it was just the relaxation we needed.

Lake Bound

We are off to the lake with our new sunglasses, Briggs calls them la la's as in oh la la! We are hoping for good weather and a cooperative little boy. Cross your fingers.

Happy Birthday Gram

We want to wish Gram a Happy Birthday today, I think she is about 25! We love our Gram because she is so sweet, loving, and always here for Briggs and our family. I met Sue about 10 years ago on my first date with Greg. I knew immediately that she and I would get along well and I was right. I could not ask for a better mother-in-law and friend. We hope that your day is perfect and we look forward to spending the weekend with at the lake. We love you always.

Summer is here!

As a teacher summer has always been my favorite season but, since Briggs was born it has taken on a whole new excitement. It is pretty awesome to be in a profession that allows me over 3 months off a year with my baby. We have been taking full advantage of our time together and really cherishing our time together. I think we have tracked down every park within a four mile radius of our house. Funny thing is that he never gets tired of those slipper slides or swings. We have been to the pool, taken countless runs and walks, wagon rides, found interesting ways to amuse ourselves in the backyard, and been able to hang out with some other kiddos. I love getting up to his smiling face every morning and not being in a hurry to run off to school. What a fun way to spend my time, being with the cutest, sweetest, and smartest little boy in the world.

Memorial Weekend

We headed down to Chanute on Memorial Day weekend for the annual Herron bash. We had a packed weekend full of swimming, basketball, moped rides, wagon rides, good food, and time with family. As always Briggs loves Chanute and all the fun things Doe doe and Papa have at their house but most of all he loves hanging out with his cousin Lydia. The bash on Sunday was a blast besides the heat it was perfect. Their were about 75 people that made it over for the party. We love having time to spend with our family and just relax. Great weekend and fun times as always.

Spring Concert

Briggs had his Spring concert at school last Thursday. We were pretty sure it would be a disaster similar to the Christmas show that resulted in me sitting on stage with him. Briggs surprised us by really stealing the show. He knew all the songs and actions and even threw in a few of his own. We sat in the back with Gram and Grandad with our faces covered so he could not catch our eyes. Here is a link to a few videos of the concert. We are so proud of Briggs and how great he did.

Mom & Dad Out and About

Greg and I were able to attend a wedding for a good high school friend of Greg's while Briggs was in Chanute. It was a beautiful wedding and Jill was a beautiful bride. It was nice catching up with friends and having some adult time.

We were so lucky to be invited to James Taylor/Carol King concert last weekend with some good friends. I am such a fan of James Taylor and had forgotten how wonderful Carol King is. We had amazing seats and just had a perfect night all around. Thanks Terry and Sue for babysitting and allowing us to get out and have some fun.

Chanute Weekend

Well once again I have been neglecting my blogging duties, so please excuse the tardiness on some of these blogs.

A few weeks ago Doe Doe and Papa graciously took Briggs for the weekend so Greg and I could go to a wedding and spend some down time without the little man. Briggs had a great time and was spoiled rotten. He got to go to the fire station, lots of walks, snuggling with Papa in the morning, and tons of hugs and kisses. I think he barely noticed when Greg and I showed up on Sunday. We feel so lucky to have people like my parents in Briggs's life that love him beyond measure. Thank you Doe Doe and Papa for all your help, the weekend was just what we needed to recharge our batteries. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
