Goodbye Paradise
Well back to reality after a beautiful week in Port Aransas. We left on Friday afternoon and made it to Waco, Texas by about 10:30. We were all ready for a good nights sleep and to get out of the car. After a long day on Saturday we made it back to Chanute about 5:00 pm. We were sad to leave the beach and beautiful weather to come home to a snow storm. Briggs was such a good traveler besides a few breakdowns he weathered the travel really well. Our week was perfect, full of relaxation, sun, good food, and family. Thank you Doe Doe, Papa, Kelli, and Jason for all your help with Briggs and making our trip so much fun. I believe that Briggs will be in for a rude awakening tomorrow when he does not have 6 doting adults around to grant his every need and wish. I suppose we will all have to get used to not being with our sweet little boy as well. Now the countdown begins 9 weeks till summer break!

Happy St. Patricks Day
Happy St. Patricks Day. Hope everyone is able to enjoy a nice cold green beer today. We are loving life here in Port Aransas. Yesterday was a bit chilly and rainy so we spent most of the day just relaxing in the condo. Today it is about 73 and beautiful, we have already hit the beach once and are in for a nap now. Briggs loves just being able to run on the beach and chase his ball. Plan on heading to the pool in a bit and then out for some St. Patties Day beers tonight. More from paradise later........

Life's a Beach
Well we made it to Port Aransas. Thank god for a sleepy boy and Baby Einstein movies we drove through the night. We tried to stop in Austin and get a hotel but soon found out that everything was booked till San Antonio due to the South by Southwest Music festival. Thanks to our fearless drivers Dad and Greg we forged on and made it to Corpus Christi about 7:30 in the morning. We were all a little tired but happy that we had made the full trip. We got checked in to our condo about 1:00 and were ready to hit the beach. Briggs loves the beach and the water, I am pretty sure he would have went in head deep if we would let him. It has been great weather, about 70 and mostly sunny. I am not sure if we will be able to get our little beach baby home we might just become Port A. locals! Stay tuned for more Port Aransas updates........

Boys Weekend
As you may know already, last weekend was the annual Giner weekend for the ladies which meant Briggs and I got to spend a weekend alone with no girls allowed from Thursday night until Sunday afternoon!! It was our first official boys weekend and we definately did it up right. I was a bit nervous because I'd never had him on my own for more than one night. You may laugh at that, but I'm still relatively new to this parenting thing and I really lean on Sara a lot to teach me things. However my nervousness went away Thursday night during dinner when Briggs looked at me, let out a big toot, and then started laughing. Of course because I still have the sense of humor of a 4th grader, I died laughing. Then I burped at him a few times and he died laughing. If only we were in our underwear on the couch with ice cream and a Rambo movie on it would have been a perfect guys only night!! From then on I knew we were going to have a blast together!! We played a lot of basketball (what's new), ate when we were hungry, slept when we were tired, and really didn't go by any schedule. We even got out one morning early to make the rounds as doughnut delivery men to Aunt Kiki and my parents. Moral of the story is, we both survived, had a great time, and can't wait until the next Giner weekend so we can have the house to ourselves again!!

Update
It has been awhile since my last post, feels like the days just keep flying past. We have 4 days left till spring break and are really anticipating getting out of town for a bit. We are heading with Grandma and Grandpa Herron to Port Aransas, Texas for a full week. Are swim suits are packed and I don't know if all the spring breakers are ready for Mr. Briggs hot beach bod.
Briggs seems to be growing leaps and bounds mentally and physically everyday. I know every parent probably thinks this but I swear he is the smartest 18 month old ever. He can now identify the colors yellow, green, and purple and can say the colors pretty good too. He has so many new words in his vocabulary and I love to hear them come out of his sweet little mouth. I will try to post a video soon with all his new words.
Sorry for all the bathtub pictures but seems to be the only time I can get him to sit somewhat still. As you can see by the pictures he is pretty stinking ornery these days.
