Winter Blues

Well as you can see from the pictures we just put up, it's still cold as ever here. We can now tell that Briggs is definitely going to be an outdoor kid because he loves getting out any chance we get....even if he has to wear his mittens that don't fit him at all. Any time the sun is shining or it's above 40 degrees, we bundle him up and run around the front yard or even just take a quick little ride down to the mailbox in his Radio Flyer. It's a bonus if he sees the neighborhood kids out playing because he loves watching what the big kids get to do. They're usually out playing football or basketball and as soon as he sees them he points and tries to say "ball." It sounds more like "ba", but we know what he means. He's getting very vocal these days and has begun to realize his voice can get him things he wants at times....score one for him. His favorite thing to do now is go into the kitchen and try to open the refrigerator door to get his milk. He obviously can't, so he makes noises until we come in and open the door for him. Then he grabs his milk, takes a chug, puts it back in the fridge, shuts the door, and waits 5 minutes (or less) until he wants to do it all over again. Speaking of shutting the door, that's a new favorite. Any drawer, door, lid, etc that can be closed will be. He's been a great kid lately (as always) and is definitely growing up faster than we ever expected.

Time Flies

Whew... is January already half over? I swear we just celebrated Christmas. We have been getting back in the swing of things after Christmas break and then 3 snow days last week. Briggs and I have gotten pretty attached and boy has daycare drop off been tough the last few days. Secretly I love that he misses me when I leave but god I hate to see him cry. It was really great to have so much time to hang out with Briggs and not have anything else pressing to do. He is getting so big and learning so much everyday and is boy is he ornery. I feel like Greg and I will be tested daily with this little stinker. I was sassed for the first time last week, it consisted of a little finger shake at me and three words that sounded very similar to no, no, no. Guess you have to love that he has some fire in him!

Briggs is headed to Chanute with Doe Doe for two nights. He will be getting I think his 8th haircut and I am sure lots of hugs and kisses. We will miss him dearly. Hope everyone has had a great start to the new year.

Pictures of Briggs feeding himself spaghetti at Gram & Grandad's house on Tuesday. I think we will continue working on our table manners!
